North High Street Second Alarm
Engine 24 and Rescue 3 were dispatched and responding from a previous call to a reported building fire at 65 North High Street just before 0200hrs, Engine 21 was dispatched from the station. Car-2 shortly arrived on scene reporting the Working Fire. Mansfield Tower 1 was called at that point due to Ladder 26's aerial being out of service. Only one occupant was home at the time and reported everyone was out of the building. Engine 24 and Rescue 3 with a total of 4 members made a quick knock down of the exterior fire and made in interior attack find minimal fire on the first floor and heavy fire on the second floor inside the walls and ceilings. Engine 21 established a water supply and assisted the crew's inside the building. Searches turned up negative, a 2nd Alarm was transmitted due to the heavy fire venting to the outside. Companies made an aggressive interior attack and contained the fire in about 1 hour. There was extensive damage to the second floor of the home; there were no injuries to the occupants or firefighters. Mansfield, Sharon, Norfolk, and Wrentham fire assisted at the scene while Plainville Fire covered the town in case of additional emergencies.
